tnt - Institute of Information Processing

The Institute of Information Processing (TNT) deals with the processing of video and audio signals. The focus is laid on the analysis and interpretation as well as on the coding of audio, video and imaging data.

Due to the widespread use of recording systems in production environments and medical applications, there exists a large variety of possible applications for technologies developed at TNT. Examples are readout and inspection methods for components, motion analysis of arbitrary objects as well as high-precision calibration of multi camera systems.

In the field of medical image processing, image-assisted methods developed by TNT help with the automated analysis and segmentation of sensor data like for example CT or MRI. As a member of the Hannover Centre for Mechatronics, the Institute of Information Processing provides useful expertise concerning the MZH’s main research topic Medical Engineering.
